Hello and welcome!
We are a married couple team, sharing our love for one another and movement. Our mission is to cultivate peace through serving our greater community by sharing our story and teaching Taiji and Tango. We believe every person who practices these arts will find improved health, feel more empowered, and discover a greater sense of peace through connection with their own bodies, and this community. We do this with our foundations of lives immersed in movement.
Ashley has a history of movement through dance at a young age, competitive horseback riding, several years as a professional triathlete, a dance major, and student of Tango in Argentina and Taiji in China. She also has studied the body completing pre-med courses at the University of Washington, studying nutrition, and exploring different cultures while working in Argentina, Panama, and Honduras.
Lao was coached in movement from a young age by his mother who majored in movement therapy and has practiced yoga and meditation most of his life, played nearly all athletics from racket sports to rock climbing, hiking to marathons. He has studied human anatomy as a professional medical massage therapist in Seattle, Washington, and over the last four years he has studied, taught, and competed Taiji in the U.S., Canada, and China.
To fulfill our mission, we are sharing our book Taiji and Tango: Peace in Motion, which is both our story and a guide to these arts, traveling, partnership, nutrition, and more. Please see our facebook page to learn more, and visit our Indiegogo campaign to share and donate.
We provide classes in person and online, and teach single day and weekend workshops in the U.S. and internationally. Please contact us to learn more or to arrange a workshop!
